You Should Enable FaceBook over SSL

People seem to be getting the idea about FaceBook security. (Oh, wait, no they don't, but anyway...) Here is a really simple thing that you can do to improve the privacy of your FaceBook time (er stalking?). This article will show you how (about one minute of your time!)

Go to Account Settings:

FaceBook SSL

Then choose Security from the left hand menu:

FaceBook SSL

Edit the setting for Secure Browsing and enable "Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) when possible".

FaceBook SSL

This setting does not improve your password security, or stop people from seeing stuff that you've shared inappropriately. What it does do is wraps everything you do on FaceBook inside an encrypted (private) session. You'll know when this is in action when your URL looks something like this (note the "HTTPS"):

FaceBook SSL
